Ayelet Cohen Weil and Zohar Cohen

Ayelet Cohen Weil is a Mexican-born Israeli Jew, wife of Zohar Cohen and mother of two beautiful girls, Shai (5 yo) and Shir (3 yo) Cohen Weil.

Ayelet Cohen Weil is also the new Executive Director of the Louis Brier Foundation. Ayelet has more than 14 years of experience working in Jewish community organizations, both in BC and Israel, and immense personal involvement throughout her lifetime. 

Prior to joining the Louis Brier Foundation on February 1st, 2021, Ayelet held the position of Associate Director of Community Engagement at the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver. She was also the Manager of Women’s Philanthropy and Manager of Major Gifts for the Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign. Her previous experience includes working in academia at the Interdisciplinary Centre (IDC) Herzliya (now Reichman University) and as Managing Director of Hillel BC. Ayelet holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy – Conflict Resolution and Mediation with International Mediation Certification and distinction from Tel Aviv University, and a first degree in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Victoria (UVIC).

Rabbi Shmuel Yeshayahu was born in Israel and received his rabbinic ordination from the Rabbinate of Israel. He is a Rabbi in Vancouver, BC. Since 2000 he has been providing mentoring, counseling, religious services, classes, and tutorials, as well as developing and leading Jewish programming for unaffiliated young adults.
