In life, we need to embrace the unexpected. We need to be open to experiences and opportunities far beyond what we conceive. Be open to the growth that is just outside your grasp – just far enough that you need to leap to attain it.
The Parsha this past week has a very interesting mitzvah: The Torah dictates that if you forgot produce in your field; you should leave it to the poor. The only way that you can do this mitzvah is if you forget the produce in the first place. If you planned to give the food to charity – you do a mitzvah, but not this one. This mitzvah is only obtainable if you forgot the produce, left it there, and then when you remembered, left it for charity.
Make a plan: but you do not need to stick to the plan. Be flexible and open: you may surprise yourself.

What a lesson for life! Some opportunities only avail themselves when you lose yourself, when you forget, when you do not plan. When you are open to things beyond your grasp and intention. Maybe what you are looking for is not really what you are looking for. Be open to new ideas and opportunities.
Do not get frustrated when things do not go as planned, look for the new opportunities in the moment. Elevate and embrace life as it comes to you. Not everything is in your control.
